In Norse Mythology, Loki the Trickster God, was the uninvited 13th guest at a banquet, which led to chaos and tragedy
and established the day/number as unlucky.
In Christian Tradition, Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest at the Last Supper.
In medieval Europe, Fridays were chosen as execution days, since perceived as ill-fated days.
Anyway, it's terrible to be associated with bad luck. The superstition is hard to ignore since it was established centuries ago.
Whatever have we done to Friday, the 13th.
Wishing you much luck and joy always - shobana.
