I bought you flowers.

Jacky had a way of lighting up people's lives with her humour and kindness. Mum said when she was born, our household was the brightest ever.  She was so cute, chubby and naughty. That made me laugh, she grew up to be the same way. Not chubby though, she lost her baby fat to grow into a tall and lanky beauty.

When she and I started our business venture together, she was in charge of marketing our agency's services. She had that great smile and appeal that made anyone feel at ease with her. Don't be fooled to cross paths with her. She will never take it lightly, but she is a best friend to those she loves and who love her in return.

She never made it look like she had a lot of trials to overcome. While raising her son, she made sure she did a splendid job of it.  When she fell ill, she carried on no matter the pain for her son's sake. She went about her work until she couldn't. A few days before she died, she asked me to sing the song, Let it Be by the Beatles. I did in a choked voice. I often thought about why she chose that song. Maybe to let me know that her illness was meant to be and to accept her demise when it happens.

But then, who accepts the death of someone like Jacky. It was too tragic for her friends and family.

Today is her death anniversary and I bought her flowers.
